How are the LLM models in the app selected?
VibeQuotr ships with 22+ models from the six major providers — Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, DeepSeek, Mistral, and xAI. Each is included on the basis of three criteria: (1) it is generally available (no waitlist-only models), (2) it has a published SWE-bench score so we can compute the Vibe-Budget rework factor, and (3) it is plausibly useful for AI-assisted software development. Models that are clearly superseded by a newer, cheaper sibling from the same provider are dropped on the next app update.
When are the prices updated?
Model pricing and SWE-bench scores ship statically with each app update. We track provider price pages and refresh the catalog whenever there is a meaningful change — typically every 1–3 months. There are no live API calls from the app, which keeps it fully private and offline-capable. If a price moved and the update has not yet shipped, please email us and we will queue a release.
What happens to my saved calculations?
Everything stays on your device. The app does not have a server, an account system, or any analytics. Calculations saved with VibeQuotr Pro are written to iOS's local storage inside the app sandbox and are included in iCloud and encrypted iPhone backups according to your normal device settings. Uninstalling the app removes them. We never see them.
Why does the Vibe-Budget rework factor matter so much?
VibeQuotr's Vibe-Budget mode computes rework as 10^(4 × (1 − p)), where p is the model's SWE-bench score. A model with p=0.50 carries a 100× rework factor; a model with p=0.70 carries roughly 16×. In practice this means "cheap" weaker models are often more expensive end-to-end than a frontier model, because they require dramatically more iterations. VibeQuotr visualizes this with colour-coded bars so the answer is obvious at a glance.
What is the difference between Basic and Pro?
Basic (€4.99) is the fully featured calculator — all five modes, all 22+ models, the recommendation engine, and the provider filter. Pro (€9.99 one-time in-app purchase) adds workflow conveniences: history of saved calculations, export to PDF/Markdown/CSV, and custom LLM entries for on-prem or private endpoints. No subscriptions, no ads, no tracking — in either tier.
